Happy Valentine’s Day

Dear Reader,

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Whether you have a cute little lovely to call your own or not, this love letter is for you! First off, thank you so much for all the time you have spent reading this silly little blog. Oh, this is your first time? I suggest you get on it and do some back tracking.

For the rest of you loyal readers, you all are the best, no matter what anyone else says about you. I wish I could reach out and give you all a big old wonderful hug, or a manly handshake…you take your pick. Valentine’s Day is a day of love, a day when you are suppose to feel loved and show love, so here you go, a love letter for you all, on this wonderful day.

Since I didn’t have the time to go out and buy you all some delicious chocolates and yummy sweets, hopefully this letter will serve as a somewhat less fattening substitute for the lack of preparedness on my part.

I don’t have a physical gift for all of you, but what I lack in physicality, I hope to make up in emotionality (yes, I think that is a word). I know how hard it is to get up everyday and go to work, and save the world in only the ways that you can. So if no one else tells you this today, or ever, thank you!! Thank you all for being yourselves, and for any reason if you don’t think you can be yourself, then start. Life is short, and there are too many of us that care about you, and we don’t want to see you sad and unhappy. We love you now, so just think how excited we will be for you to see the “real” you, the one that doesn’t have to put on a mask to go out in the world. We are here for you!

Also, do me a favor and play a song for me today. Go to whatever music platform you use and find “POWER OF LOVE” by Huey Lewis and the News. Do it now! Play that silly little masterpiece on your way to work, or to school, or wherever you are going this morning. Play it loud and jam out! It isn’t a Frank Sinatra ballad, you don’t slow dance with your partner and talk about sweet things to this song. No, you beat your steering wheel and jump up and down. You know why? Because that’s the power of love you fool.

It makes you do stupid things, as the song says, makes one man weap…makes another man sing. Don’t get me wrong, we all love some slow dancing, but you know what we love even more? To be excited about someone, or something. And that is what this song is all about. It fires you up and it keeps your heart burning. So go ahead, play it loud and sing along, and soon enough, when you are on your second or third time of singing the song and you are on the verge of losing your voice, that euphoric feeling you now have is burning proof of..the power of love.

Now that you flying high and feeling good, smile. Yes, pull the corners of your mouth apart and smile. Smile big and hard and often today. Look at a complete stranger and smile at them and tell them hello. The power of a smile is amazing, it makes us feel good and it makes others feel good. And no matter how you think you feel about your smile, a good honest smile always looks good on anytime.

Finally, this letter is short, but today is long..so go make the best of it. Buy yourself a coffee, eat that piece of candy. Send the text message, make the call, send the love. Friends or lovers, you all have people in your lives that would love to hear from you, why not do it today.

So for all of you, here is your love letter to someone, my letter to all of you on this great day of great celebration. Thank you for being you, and thank you for making the world go round. Have the greatest of days and the go make someone else’s day wonderful,

after all….that’s the power of love.
